A happy child is a well behaved child

A happy child is a good, frum and well behaved child.

I know that’s how it works for me.

When I’m happy I’m kinder, more generous, and overall more pleasant to be around.

When a spouse is joyful and in a good mood, they are more respectful, more patient and have a greater capacity for empathy.

How then, can we as parents contribute to our children’s happiness?

It doesn’t cost anything to turn on music and dance in your dining room, and silly stories and a walk in the park with your children are free – yet priceless.

Some families have a “date night” where the family gathers around and spends time playing games together. Popcorn costs almost nothing to make and kids love it.

Does your child have a favorite food that makes him happy? A specific toy? An hour in the park playing ball with his father? What is it that makes your child laugh “that” laugh? You know, the carefree laugh that is projecting unbridled joy.

Kids need to laugh more and have more fun. It will change their outlook on life and they will be better to the people around them.

Did you know that saying a joke before class and getting students into a joyous mood actually helps learning.

The more our children are laughing and having fun, the better they feel about life, the brighter their outlook, the nicer they are to other children and the list goes on.

A happy child is a shining light to their families, their friends and their classmates.
